Sour milk: Indian woman racially assaulted, manhandled in Germany
An Indian woman by the name of Srruthi Lekha, who is a UN employee (according to her Twitter bio), wanted to return two cartons of milk that had given her a stomachache after she had bought them from the supermarket chain Kaufland in Germany’s Magdeburg. After she went back to the store with her acquaintance to relay the matter, the store employee reimbursed them for their purchase. However, this did not satisfy Lekha and she argued that she should be compensated for her illness too. Following a phone call, the store employee offered them a 30-euro voucher, which was rapidly withdrawn before they could accept, and they were told to get a lawyer. “You are in Germany. You can’t talk like this. You are in Germany. You have to talk in our language,” the employee allegedly said. Subsequently, they were manhandled and pushed out by store security.
