Russians celebrate summer solstice by lighting bonfires

Russians celebrated the traditional summer solstice on Sunday night, June 26, by lighting a bonefire and dancing around it. In the capital Moscow, As part of Ivan Kupala celebration, also called Kupala Night, Russian people lit a huge campfire and danced around the fire until the wee hours of the morning, accompanied by music. Kupala Night is a traditional Slavic holiday to celebrate the shortest night of the year and the summer solstice.
