Footage shows the outlandish Indian festival where Hindu holy men carrying newborn babies are tied to iron poles and hoisted 40 feet into the air. The festival takes place every year at the Sree Bhadrakali Temple where childless couples regularly come and pray in the hopes of bearing children in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. If those couples have a baby one day, they then take them to the temple to thank the deity Bhadrakali Amman by offering up their newborn babies to join the festival every year on March 18. At least 1,300 babies reportedly participated in the festival this year.
