Hindutva leaders called for a genocide against Muslims during two separate events in New Delhi and Haridwar held in December. “There’s no other choice. Either kill or be killed. Just like in Myanmar, the police, army, politicians, and every single Hindu must take up arms and destroy the Muslims. This must be our priority. You have to focus on and prepare for this,” said Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati, a hardline Hindu priest and the apparent organizer of what the media has branded as a “hate conclave.”
