Frozen Lake Baikal in Siberia dazzles with picturesque views

Located in Russia’s vast Siberia region, Lake Baikal is covered with a thick layer of ice during the freezing cold days of winter. Considered the oldest (formed 25 million years ago) and deepest (1,700 m) lake in the World, the lake Contains nearly 20% of the world´s unfrozen freshwater reserve. In 1996, Lake Baikal was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
