Cautious calm returns to Kazakh capital after declaration of state of emergency

Police checkpoints have been set up at all entrances and exits of Nur Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan. In the capital, security measures have been increased due to the "high danger alert" declared throughout the country. All official government buildings and social facilities, especially the Presidential Palace Akorda in Nur Sultan have been guarded day and night by special operations soldiers.
