After Macron blunder, metro in Algeria starts operation sans French partner

Algeria has inaugurated its metro in capital Algiers after its construction was halted due to the breakout of the coronavirus pandemic, however, sans its former French partner RATP Paris, a state-owned public transport operator, according to a written statement by Algeria’s Ministry of Transport. The country will be moving forward with another firm, EMA, it added, as French President Emmanuel Macron’s unruly statements about its former colony are still fresh.
