Turkey takes 1500-year-old ‘lovers’ under protection

A 1,500-year-old grave thought to belong to two lovers, a man and woman cuddling each other, has been taken under protection in Turkey's northwestern Çanakkale province and turned it into a preservation area. The grave was found during excavations in the Parion Ancient City located in the village of Kemer of the Biga district in 2011. There are not many examples of graves of cuddling men and women in the world apart from Italy and Ukraine.
