The cost of love: Romantic proposal ends with 78,000 TL police fine in Turkey

A young man trying to surprise his girlfriend with a marriage proposal in a schoolyard with the help of his friends got a heavy fine for his seemingly romantic method of popping the question. One of his friends drifted around the couple with a car while the youth declared his intentions, before the Turkish gendarmerie arrived at the scene and wrote them a fine for 78,000 TL in the southern province of Antalya.
