Syrian protesters took to the streets of central Damascus on Saturday afternoon to voice their anger about the upcoming move of the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. The group of protesters gathered one day ahead of the embassy's official opening, with many seen holding Palestinian flags and anti-U.S. placards. One participant named Khalf Miftah denounced the U.S. move as "a violation of international law" and warned it could have profound global consequences.
