Syrian refugees have been facing all sorts of hardships while living in Jordan since the outbreak of civil war in Syria seven years ago. Jordan and Syria share close to a 370-kilometer long border line. Since the bitter civil war broke out during the spring of 2011, over 1.3 million Syrians have fled to the neighbouring country to seek asylum. In Zaatari refugee camp, the largest refugee camp in Jordan and the second largest in the Middle East, Syrian refugees have turned the refugee camp into a "town" with a population of over 100,000.
