Sandstorm, strong winds hit northwest China’s Xinjiang

Strong winds led to severe sandstorms in various areas across northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Monday. In Tarbagatay Prefecture's Emin County, gale force winds whipped up sand, reducing visibility to only about 200 meters. In Yining City, strong winds snapped and uprooted numerous trees, knocking over power lines and causing many people to lose power.
