Protest in Paris against draft law targeting Muslims
A protest was held in the French capital on Sunday (Feb. 14) against Islamaphobia and a draft law against radical extremism that Muslims fear, if passed, will target them unfairly. The representatives of non-governmental organizations and victims of the 'separatist' bill and human rights defenders gathered at Trocadero square to voice their rejection against the separatism bill which currently under discussion in the National Assembly. This bill, prepared by the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, is described as discriminatory against Muslims whose places of worship, restaurants, associations, and other businesses are threatened by administrative pressure or even closures.
