Paris cleans up after riots, government to consider state of emergency

Paris began cleaning up its streets on Sunday morning after a day of riots that lasted well into the night where masked, black-clad groups ran riot across central Paris on Saturday (December 1), torching cars and buildings, looting shops, smashing windows and fighting police.The French government will consider imposing a state of emergency to prevent a recurrence of France's worst riots in years, but while it is open to dialogue it will not change course, its spokesman Benjamin Griveaux told Europe 1 radio.
