During the Rwandan genocide, churches turned into slaughterhouses. The 24th anniversary of one of the world's most tragic massacres was marked on Saturday. The massacre, which was marred by French involvement, lasted for a hundred days and caused the death of one million innocent people. The genocide took place between hardliner Hutus and minority Tutsis after the death of Rwandan President Juvenal Habyarimana and Burundian President Cyprien Ntaryamira in a plane crash on April 6, 1994.
