New York City's iconic bronze 'Charging Bull' statue, a symbol of Wall Street power, was covered on Sunday against possible attacks in the aftermath of the GameStop frenzy. The three-and-a-half-ton bronze bull has stood on Broadway outside the New York Stock Exchange since December 1989, when its creator, sculptor Arturo Di Modica, illegally installed the piece as a political gesture. Modica intended for the sculpture to be a beacon of optimism in the wake of the Black Monday stock market crash in 1987.
