
Iran reels under frequent power outages and rising pollution
Various shots from Iran's capital Tehran as partial power outages are being implemented, on January 26, 2021. After power outages in the country, cryptocurrency mining, which is thought to indirectly affect this situation due to the high electrical energy consumption of the devices used in production, started to be discussed. After increasing public reactions, Iranian officials closed more than 1600 cryptocurrency farms in the country and seized more than 45,000 devices. This year in Iran, the public spending more time at their houses due to the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic increased the consumption of electricity and natural gas in the domestic market.
