Hundreds of thousands of Muslims arrive in Arafat on first day of haj pilgrimage

Hundreds of thousands of Muslims from all over the world arrived in Arafat early on Monday (August 20), the first official day of the annual haj pilgrimage. The pilgrims will spend a full day in the area, observing prayers and reading the from Koran before moving onto Muzdalifa for stone-picking.
