Thirty crew members of two fishing vessels were rescued from waves up to three meters high in the East China Sea on Thursday before the Friday landing of Typhoon Rumbia. The two vessels, one stranded and the other with engine failure, were caught in strong winds and high waves brought by approaching Typhoon Rumbia Thursday morning. Four helicopters from the Chinese Ministry of Transport rescued them from the vessels and transferred them to safe locations.
