Erdoğan calls on international community ‘to protect the historical status of Jerusalem’

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan called on all 193 members of the United Nations General Assembly to support a draft resolution rejecting U.S. President Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital. The General Assembly will hold a rare emergency special session on Thursday. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) convened in Istanbul last week to discuss Jerusalem.
