Life in Eastern Ghouta exists only between the brief pauses in fighting. The humanitarian situation is rapidly deteriorating across the district. Roughly 400,000 civilians in Eastern Ghouta, a Damascus suburb besieged by the Assad regime and its allies for the last five years, continue to live amid poverty, famine and extremely difficult conditions.
