Container ship crashes into pier in Istanbul's Marport

With a length of close to 400 meters, a Liberia-flagged container ship, MSC TINA, crashed into a pier at Marport, a private container port located in the Ambarlı district of Turkey's metropolitan Istanbul, while trying to dock on Saturday. Despite severe damage to the pier and ship, there were fortunately no casualties or injuries in the incident, according to Turkey's Transport and Infrastructure Ministry.
