Civil servants go on general strike over wages in Tunisia

Hundreds of thousands of Tunisian civil servants on Thursday staged a general strike to demand an increase in the wages.The strike -- organized by Tunisian General Union of Labor -- came after the failure of a related round of negotiations with the government.Nearly 700,000 public sector employees have been reportedly participated in it, so far.
