Brussels celebrates the Turkish referendum victory
After the results of the Turkish referendum that proposed constitutional amendments became clear, many people in Brussels took to the streets to celebrate the victory. Members of the Union of European Turkish Democrats (UETD) also celebrated the results. The celebrations in Brussels, where the “Yes” vote prevailed, were mostly held in Chaussee de Haecht Street, known as the Turkish neighborhood of the capital of Brussels. The celebrators, who held posters of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as well as Turkish flags, continually chanted slogans supporting the 'Yes' vote. A Turkish group also toured around the streets in their cars. Security measures were taken by the police in the celebrations, which continued till the late hours.
