Assad regime violates UNSC and Russia's ceasefire, shells Eastern Ghouta

The regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad violated a ceasefire by the United Nations Security Council and Russia that was enabled to form of a "humanitarian corridor" to let civilians leave the area, where government bombardment has killed hundreds since Feb. 18. Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the daily truce from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (0700 GMT to 1200 GMT).
