Almost no living creature remained in East Aleppo and even urban birds were observed leaving the city, after the 4-year-old protracted and devastating war, as Aleppan kids and people also took their domestic birds and cats with them. Noting that not just people, but Aleppo's animals went through difficult times under the brutal blockade, Aleppans said:“We could not feed animals. Even if we found a little food, it was not enough for us.”
