Airstrikes killed 30 people in Syria's eastern Ghouta district, outside Damascus on Monday. Warplanes struck the towns of Zamalka, Arbaeen, Hazza and Beitu Soua, said the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. The Syrian regime, backed by Russian air power, has besieged eastern Ghouta, the largest remaining opposition-held area near Damascus, for years.
