Sweltering temperatures have caused a thousand-year-old salt lake to turn brilliant colors in recent days in Yuncheng City, north China's Shanxi Province. The reason for the lake's colorful appearance in recent days is actually due to the large amounts of algae and brine shrimp that have multiplied rapidly under the hot weather conditions.
