Palestinian barber uses fire to style hair

Ramadan Edwan practices an unusal style of hairdressing in a quaint barber shop in the Rafah refugee camp on the southern Gaza strip. Edwan pours flammable powder and liquid on his customers' hair before sparking a fire to style the hair. “The idea of fire barbering is old here,” Edwan says, stating the practice has many benefits. “It's good for blood circulation. It also feeds hair and protects the root,” he adds.
