The waters of the French Alps' iconic Lake Annecy reached an historically low level, 60 centimetres below normal, on Tuesday, a level not seen since 1947. After a dry and hot summer this year, the water level of the third largest lake in France gradually dropped to around 20 centimetres, while the usual height is around 80 centimetres.
