Various shots of the Hair Museum of Avanos created by Turkish potter Galip Korukucu, aka Chez Galip, 41 years ago in Cappadocia region of Turkey's central Nevsehir province on July 02, 2020. The museum filled with women's hair was included in the Guinness Book of World Records in 1998. The story goes that the potter was bidding farewell to a dear friend who was moving away from Avanos and she cut a piece of her hair for him to leave as a reminder. He put it up in his shop, and told the story to the visitors. Since then, the women who visited his shop gave him a piece of their hair. Now the museum holds more than 16,000 locks of hair from women all around the world, alongside notes with their names and contact information.
