Fair Play Cup brings refugees together in Ireland
The Fair Play Cup in Dublin saw teams of refugees from war zones all over the world compete against each other, but also offer unique support at the same time. Run by the United Nations and Sport Against Racism Ireland, football is seen as a way to help those recently settled in Ireland find their feet in their new homeland. The seven-a-side tournament is held in central Dublin and draws players from refugee communities all over Ireland whose countries of origin range from Vietnam to South Sudan, with the aim of raising awareness and helping them to integrate.Among the teams competing this year were one from South Sudan and one made up of Rohingya refugees from Myanmar.
