A man braved frozen water to rescue a 70-year-old woman who was stranded in a river in northern China's Hebei Province on Tuesday. While on his way to work, the Samaritan, Shi Lei, found an elderly woman drowning in the frozen river. Without any hesitation, he dove in the river bank and tried to break the ice bare-handed. The helpless woman was frozen stiff as the 54-year-old carried her back to the bank.
