Chinese boat rescues Russian couple off Phuket
A Chinese tourist boat rescued a Russian couple off Thailand's Phuket island on Thursday after their motor boat was caught by high waves in stormy weather. The pair were reportedly enjoying a sea trip on a jet ski when sudden strong winds and heavy rains whipped up high waves, putting them in danger in the middle of the ocean. Spotting the stranded couple, a passing boat carrying some 91 Chinese tourists and 21 crew members immediately came their rescue. The boat managed to reach the struggling couple and offered them life jackets. Meanwhile, the crew also acted quickly and successfully brought the couple back to their boat. Some tourists' mobile phone cameras captured how the Russian tourists were rescued from the rough sea. The couple were offered fresh towels and beverage after being brought onto the Chinese boat and made back safely to land.
