Police in Turkey's southeastern city of Batman have implemented an innovative solution for traffic control. A cardboard cutout of a police officer and car was installed on the Batman-Diyarbakir highway by the Batman Security Directorate Traffic Branch. Weary of the police car, drivers have been observed to slow down. “It acts as a deterrent for speeding drivers. I congratulate the authorities,” said Bahar Tarhan Yıldırım, a driver who frequently uses the highway.
