Wildlife Reserves Singapore unveiled newborn babies from endangered animal species on Thursday including the pygmy hippo and the electric blue gecko. Abina is the 24th pygmy hippo to be born in Singapore Zoo. Deputy CEO at Wildlife Reserves Singapore Cheng Wen-Haur said the wildlife park has been able to consistently breed the endangered species over the years, compared to other zoos around the world. Wildlife Reserves Singapore reported 540 births and hatchlings representing 145 species in 2017, of which over a quarter are endangered.
