Visitors Werder Bremen stunned Borussia Dortmund 3-2 with an unforgettable late show, completing a comeback in a Saturday German Bundesliga match.

Borussia Dortmund took a 2-0 lead after long shots by German midfielder Julian Brandt in the 45th minute and Portuguese left-back Raphael Guerreiro in the minute 77 that beat Werder Bremen goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka at the Signal Iduna Park.

Dortmund fans were ecstatic after Guerreiro's goal.

Werder Bremen waited for 89 minutes to narrow the gap.

Dortmund could not clear the ball from danger as English defender Lee Buchanan took the ball and unleashed a shot with the outside of his left foot to make it 1-2.

Werder Bremen midfielder Niklas Schmidt leveled the game with a header in the 93rd minute, 2-2.

But the away team did not stop. In the 95th minute, Werder Bremen's Scottish midfielder Oliver Burke scored the winning goal in a counter attack.

Werder Bremen finished the job in six minutes and returned home with a precious 3-2 win.

"Today if you are 2-0 up after 88 minutes then you have to finish the game with a win," Borussia Dortmund head coach Edin Terzic said after the loss, criticizing their own performance.

Now in the seventh spot in Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund were handed their first loss of this season. They have six points in three matches.

Werder Bremen boosted their points to five to come 8th in the league table.
