
Eid al-Fitr prayer held in Istanbul as mosques remain closed
Mosque officials, with face masks and maintain social distance rule, perform Eid al-Fitr prayer as Suleymaniye Mosque remains empty during the Eid Al-Fitr prayer within the second day of the 4-day nationwide restriction to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in Istanbul, Turkey on May 24, 2020. Although Turkey usually declares restrictions at the weekends in the major cities, this one covers all country for four days to include the Eid holiday which marks the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan as part of coronavirus precautions.
