Witch hunt at the White House!

Last week on Wednesday, an article published by the New York Times titled “I am part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration” caused panic in the White House. In the anonymous article, it is claimed that there is a movement against Trump inside the Trump administration. The article claimed to be written by a senior member of the administration and it mentions that options for impeaching Trump were on the table, but it was not resorted to to avoid a constitutional crisis. In fact, the author was implying that unless another way is found to stop Trump, the “impeachment” process is still on the table.

Trump discharged his first chief of staff, Reince Priebus, since he could not stop the information leakage and assigned Homeland Security Secretary-General John Kelly to this position. Kelly brought some security limitations to senior officers who had access to sensitive information, especially to Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and dismissed many people from the White House. Even though he introduced new measures that at one point even made Trump angry, Kelly could not stop the leakage. One cannot say that Kelly and Trump are fond of each other. Kelly is considered to be one of the “adults” who want to restrain Trump, just like Secretary of Defense James Mattis.

The mainstream media, and especially the New York Times were even making jokes about Trump by writing about the leaked information. The sarcastic comments by Trump’s inner cabinet members were appearing on the press. The leakage also included sensitive information regarding “national security” issues. Leaks from Trump's meetings conducted only with a few members were driving Trump crazy. The unnamed article in the New York Times displayed that the mole inside the White House was more than one person. Trump’s ex-Chief Strategist Steve Bannon was among the “deep throats.” Bannon was one of the generous sources of Michael Wolf’s book, “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,” which displeased Trump very much. Bannon paid for his loquaciousness by being discharged from the White House in disgrace.

For Wolf, one of the moles was Trump himself. Throughout the day and later at night he speaks with people who have no reason to be loyal to him on the phone. He complains all the time and, as a result, these people start right away to spread the gossip about what he said to them.

The new book titled “Fear: Trump in the White House,” written by Bob Woodward, the journalist who played an important role in the breakout of the “Watergate Scandal” that led to the resignation of the former U.S. President Richard Nixon, which will come onto the market in the coming days, is based on the testimonies of people from Trump’s inner circle. This also confirms what is mentioned in the unnamed article.

The article led people to suspect Trump’s inner cabinet members. Even Vice President Mike Pence made a statement and said that he is ready to take a polygraph test. Some Republican senators’ suggestion to use the polygraph test as a security measure caused panic in the White House.

It is known that the staff at the White House, who are under a lot of pressure, talk about what is going on with their inner circles to ease the pressure. That is why the “polygraph test” measure could get the staff into a lot of trouble. The media, on the other hand, is discussing whether a polygraph test would result in healthy outcomes. Accordingly, the polygraph test will also start an unprecedented “witch hunt” in the White House. On the other hand, the question of whether the White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and daughter Ivanka and his other advisor Kellyanne Conway will be exempt from the polygraph test still remains a mystery.
